4-in-1 FRT protection
This is TW4400
Treated to help inhibit mold on the lumber surface, and to resist fungal decay and wood-destroying insects, including Formosan termites. Evaluated as fire-retardant-treated wood for qualifying uses within TER 1510-01.

Why it matters
Fire-retardant framing for the projects that demand more.
4400 is the highest fire-performance tier in the RezWood™ family. It is built for commercial, multifamily, and code-driven construction where the material must do more than carry a Class A label—it must meet the requirements applied to fire-retardant-treated wood.

What it doesPurpose + applications
The full fire-retardant system.
The red RezWood™ system combines mold, decay, and subterranean-termite protection with evaluated fire-retardant treatment for qualifying dimensional-lumber applications within TER 1510-01. Rated assemblies require their own applicable documentation.
More than a color or short test
4400 is evaluated for use when fire-retardant-treated lumber is required. Covered lumber products achieve flame-spread index values of 25 or less and smoke-developed index values of 450 or less under the extended testing identified in the current report.
FRTW is a material classification
The current report evaluates qualifying lumber for the documented FRTW role. Any one- or two-hour wall claim requires a separate current assembly report and the exact approved assembly; do not infer an hourly rating from red lumber alone.
Specify the evaluated scope
Species, grade, size, treatment, use condition, installation, fasteners, field treatment, and approved construction documents must match the current report. Separate assembly documentation is required whenever an hourly wall rating is claimed.
What we protect againstProduct-specific protection
Protection built into 4400.
The protection below applies to the treated lumber—not every material in the building—and only within the selected product's documented scope.
Mold-growth inhibition
Helps inhibit mold growth on the treated lumber. Moisture management, drying, and jobsite housekeeping still matter. The public technical evaluation documents mold-growth-inhibition testing using ASTM D3273 and ASTM D5590 methods.
Explore this protection ↗Fungal-decay resistance
Resists decay fungi within the documented exposure conditions. It does not replace flashing, drainage, ventilation, or maintenance. The public technical evaluation documents fungal-decay resistance for the approved lumber, application, and above-ground exposure scope.
Explore this protection ↗Subterranean-termite resistance, including Formosan termites
Resists subterranean termites, including Formosan termites, within the current product scope. Untreated wood and cellulose remain outside the protection package. The public technical evaluation documents subterranean-termite resistance for eligible treated lumber within the approved application and exposure scope.
Explore this protection ↗Extended fire-retardant performance
FRT lumber with extended ASTM E84 and ASTM E2768 performance within the current evaluated scope The documented fire-retardant system uses extended surface-burning evaluation; any rated wall claim belongs to the complete listed assembly.
Explore this protection ↗The correct comparison for RezWood 4400 is an approved fire-retardant-treated lumber system—not ordinary pressure-treated lumber. Fire-retardant status and wall ratings belong to the documented product and assembly, not to lumber color alone.

GREENGUARD Certified for low emissions
The supplied certification covers the finished 4400 system tested with wood under UL 2818 for low chemical emissions.
Extended fire-retardant performance
The documented lumber system is evaluated using ASTM E2768 criteria, including the extended surface-burning performance required for fire-retardant-treated wood.

Third-party evaluated code use
Independent technical documentation supports approved fire-retardant applications, preservative performance, and the exact building-code conditions for use.
Technical fit: UC1, UC2, and protected UC3A conditions. Texas Wood Tech currently offers RezWood™ 4400 in common dimensional lumber sizes. Large timbers, engineered beams, treated structural panels, and truss packages are not part of the current RezWood™ offering unless separately released in writing.

Choose fasteners for the treatment, exposure, building code and connector manufacturer’s guidance. RezWood™ 4400 has supplied certification for a system tested with wood under UL 2818 for low chemical emissions.
Cutting any lumber creates wood dust. Use dust control, eye protection and job-specific PPE. Never burn treated wood; confirm local reuse and disposal requirements.

WarrantiesEligible project coverage
Coverage matched to the treatment.
This is the ChemTech limited warranty (May, 2021 Final) for treatment marketed as TW2200, TW 3300, and TW 4400. Conditions and exclusions apply.
Warranty protectionSee 4400 warranty coverage—and what each term means.Review the coverage ↗Jobsite storage · 4 months · Covered and elevated
CTH will warrant the treatment of wood components delivered and stored at construction sites for (4) four months, subject to the treated wood being stored off the ground, covered in its protective cover and safeguarded from accumulation of snow or standing water or water runoff.
Vertical framing · Up to 6 months · Unprotected framed state
CTH warrants the treatment of wood components of a covered structure for up to six (6) months in an unprotected vertical framed state, subject to proper documentation indicating completion of structure exterior wrapping or dry-in process.
Cured film surface · 5 years · Mold
The CTH Wood Treated Component is warranted to inhibit mold fungus growth/mycotoxin production on the cured surface of the film for 5 years.
Covered interior structures · 10 years · Decay and wood-ingesting insects
The CTH Wood Treated Component is warranted against wood-rot fungi decay and wood ingesting insects (including subterranean or Formosan termites) or carpenter ants, due to the failure of CTH WoodSurfaceFilm™ treatment while owned for 10 years. Such failure must render the CTH Wood Treated Component incapable of performing its intended purpose.
TW4400 only · Up to 20 years · Specified ASTM E84 Class A flame spread
CTH warrants for a period of up to 20 years that Spruce, Southern Yellow Pine and Douglass Fir dimensional lumber, when treated with TW4400, will meet or exceed relevant ASTM Standards (E-84) with a Class A flame spread rating as required by the International Building Code and International Residential Code. CTH treated products are not warranted in any way against destruction from fire.
The Warranty Period begins on the date of purchase. This warranty is extended to the first owner after the original builder/general contractor purchases the material and is non-transferrable. Written notice is required within thirty (30) days. Conditions and exclusions apply.
