The details that matter.

Applications, protection, certifications and warranty options for 2200EX.

Purpose + applications

Made for the exposed side of the project.

Exterior wood needs more than an interior preservative story. 2200EX adds a water-repellent component and exterior-focused durability while keeping the warm, natural appearance that makes wood worth specifying in the first place.

01

Exterior performance built in

2200EX combines preservative ingredients with a pre-stain concentrate and water-repellent additive, creating a treatment package designed for above-ground exterior exposure.

02

A more finished appearance

The treatment is designed to support a warm, consistent exterior color while allowing the grain and texture of the lumber to remain visible. Available RezWood™ colors depend on the Texas Wood Tech program selected.

03

Know the UC3B limit

The current report limits UC3B use to qualifying deck joists and beams under specific installation requirements. It is not a ground-contact treatment, and large timber beams are not currently offered by Texas Wood Tech.

02What we protect against

Protection built into 2200EX.

The protection below applies to the treated lumber—not every material in the building—and only within the selected product's documented scope.

Mold-growth inhibition

Helps inhibit mold growth on the treated lumber. Moisture management, drying, and jobsite housekeeping still matter. The public technical evaluation documents mold-growth-inhibition testing using ASTM D3273 and ASTM D5590 methods.

Explore this protection ↗

Fungal-decay resistance

Resists decay fungi within the documented exposure conditions. It does not replace flashing, drainage, ventilation, or maintenance. The public technical evaluation documents fungal-decay resistance for the approved lumber, application, and above-ground exposure scope.

Explore this protection ↗

Subterranean-termite resistance, including Formosan termites

Resists subterranean termites, including Formosan termites, within the current product scope. Untreated wood and cellulose remain outside the protection package. The public technical evaluation documents subterranean-termite resistance for eligible treated lumber within the approved application and exposure scope.

Exterior-focused water repellency

Adds exterior-focused water repellency for approved above-ground applications. It is not a ground-contact claim or a substitute for proper detailing. The documented 2200EX scope pairs preservative performance with exterior-focused water repellency under the specified installation and exposure conditions.

Important context

Pressure-treated products remain available for ground-contact and freshwater conditions beyond the current 2200EX scope. RezWood 2200EX is intended for selected above-ground exterior work where the documented preservative package, water repellency, and available color program fit the application.

03Certifications + fit

Testing behind the treatment.

Review the standards, certifications and application limits for the selected lumber and project.

Third-party evaluated exterior scope

Independent technical evaluation documents the approved 2200EX applications, substrates, exposure conditions, and installation requirements.

ASTM + AWPA test framework

The technical documentation references applicable ASTM and AWPA methods for preservative performance, material behavior, and exterior-use qualification.

IBC + IRC application documentation

Approved applications are documented for use with the applicable building-code requirements and project-specific approval.

Defined above-ground exposures

Evaluated for UC1, UC2, UC3A, and a limited UC3B path for qualifying applications. It is not represented as a ground-contact treatment.

Important context

Technical fit: UC1, UC2, UC3A, and UC3B* conditions. RezWood™ 2200EX is coming soon. Contact REZWOOD to confirm release timing, eligible dimensional lumber and color options before planning an order. General exterior applications must follow the documented vertical UC3A conditions; UC3B is limited to qualifying deck joists and beams with the required top-edge joist tape. Ground-contact applications are excluded.

04Warranties

Water-based, mineral-centered protection

Choose fasteners for the treatment, exposure, building code and connector manufacturer’s guidance. A separate low-emissions certification is not claimed here for 2200EX.

Cutting any lumber creates wood dust. Use dust control, eye protection and job-specific PPE. Never burn treated wood; confirm local reuse and disposal requirements.
